You are eligible for one of 3 prizes ($500, $300, $200) if you:
- Create a short film about sustainability (under 10 minutes)
- Submit it by February 15, 2019
All entries will be screened as part of the UNCG Sustainability Film and Discussion Series at the Weatherspoon Art Museum on Thursday, March 14, at 6:30pm EST, where winners will be announced and celebrated.
Entries must address sustainability, which UNCG defines as the “enduring interconnectedness of social equity, the environment, the economy, and aesthetics.” Judging is based on relation to sustainability as well as concept, cinematography, acting, production quality, costuming, writing, etc.

I am the owner and manager for two private practices. One a counseling practice and the other is a massage therapy practice. I also, produce a local television program here in Greensboro and I am a frequent (once a month) quest on WFMY Channel 2 “The Good Morning Show” as their relationship expert.
I currently supervise intern students who attend UNCG and North Carolina A & T State University. Our names are Savanna Thomas and MaryKent Wolff, and we serve as directors for Camp Kesem at UNC-Greensboro. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that also functions as a student group supporting children through and beyond a parent’s cancer. The main way we do this is by providing a completely free week of summer camp to this underserved population.
This past year, our student group raised $35,000 to send 32 kids to camp at no cost to their families. We are currently recruiting a Alumni,Marketing and PR (AMP) coordinator for our leadership team, and we would love to offer this position to students in your department.
This is a 3-5 hour/wk commitment. We provide training to all coordinators. No experience necessary! Although this position is unpaid, at the end of the year, students will be able to add the following items to their resume:
AMP Co-Coordinator (3-5 hours/wk)
- Designs and executes annual communication plan to relevant chapter stakeholders including Newsletters and Social Media activities (Facebook, Instagram)
- Responsible for stewarding chapter seniors and current chapter alumni
- Responsible for sending camper Birthday cards on a monthly basis
- Supports chapter leadership team through deployment of marketing and publicity resources in support of chapter goals
- Maintains chapter’s campkesem.org webpage
- Leads chapter’s publicity efforts including pitching local media outlets, sending timely media alerts, and cultivating local media contacts
- Maintains and responds to the firstname.lastname@example.org email account
- May manage a Alumni/Marketing/PR task force committee, including running monthly meetings and delegating Marketing/PR-related tasks.
